History
The assets consist of two separate parts, which the Bata family acquired during different time periods of the first half of the 20th century. The two parts are the Loucka Estate (Panství Loučka) and the Vsetin Manor (Velkostatek Vsetín).
The part of the assets acquired in 1918, formerly called Loucka Estate (Panství Loučka), is situated near the town of Valašské Meziříčí and its current area is approximately 1,601 ha.
The other part of the assets acquired in 1938, formerly called Vsetin Manor ("Velkostatek Vsetín"), is situated in the vicinity of the town of Vsetín and its area is approximately 1,233 ha.
In 1945 national administration was imposed over the assets, which was represented by State Forests and Estates (Státní lesy a statky) that directly took over the assets. On 31 August 1948 and 1 September 1948 the property was nationalized.
After the revolution on the 17th November 1989 a complicated restitution process and gradual restitution of the original property occurred.
This property is currently managed by the company Forests and Estates of Tomas Bata (B.F.P., Lesy a statky Tomáše Bati, spol. s.r.o.), which was established by Mr. Tomas J. Bata on 18 May 1992. The owner of the company is Mrs. Sonja I. Bata.
